RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 Episode 10: “Crew Better Work” – TV Show Review

Can you believe that we’ve already hit the top 6? It only feels like last week Jaymes Mansfield was just eliminated, and now, 8 queens have left the building? Jesus Christ, I feel like I’ve been writing memoirs of this seasons RuPaul’s Drag Race. But of course, why not have an emotional moment when you have an episode like the make-over challenge. But unlike previous seasons, this make-over challenge didn’t included people of hit shows or veterans that have served good ol’ America. In fact, it’s a group of people that were closer to them than what they thought (literally though…). Mama Ru decided to let the queens make-over… THE CAMERA CREW! But first… the drama. Linkin Park: ‘One More Light’ – Album Review

one-more-light-360x360

Released: May 19, 2017

Linkin Park were once one of the most radical, over-the-top nu-metal bands in like… well, if you calculate my age, then, ever! With iconic releases such as the early 2000s Hybrid Theory and Meteora, their image and sound took a controversial spin as it moved towards 2010’s A Thousand Suns, mixing a blend of electronica and pop-ish frills, and so forth,  But with One More Light, the bands seventh studio album in a near 20th anniversary achievement, never have the band sounded so… so… pop. And, for even die-hard Linkin Park fan, this will be a disappointment. Continue reading “Linkin Park: ‘One More Light’ – Album Review”

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 Episode 9: “Your Pilots on Fire” – TV Show Review

queens-we-love-rupauls-drag-race-season-9-hero

This season’s RuPaul’s Drag Race has been a cave full of… well, quietness and humbleness (apart from a couple queens that just love to throw the shade, and drown in sorrow… literally). But this episode, the creative challenge of “Your Pilots on Fire”, we see it all; the tension, the drama, the shade, the sadness, the laughs… gurl, the everythang! I’ve been DYING for an episode that basically moulds all these elements together because frankly, it’s been a bit lacklustre as a whole, so it’s good to see a lot of drama for… well, a reality TV series full of drama of course. And, it could possibly be the best episode this entire season for the reasons to come! Continue reading “RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 Episode 9: “Your Pilots on Fire” – TV Show Review”

Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj: “Swish Swish” – Single Review

Released: May 19, 2017

Katy Perry is basically the new queen of dropping a bunch of hits because… well, why the hell not? Ms. Perry isn’t afraid of touching into different music genres; she hit the disco nail on the head with the lukewarm “Chained to the Rhythm”, and a progressive pop sound in the juvenile joy of “Bon Appetit”. But now, the singer has teamed up with bottttaaaay poppin’ rapper Nicki Minaj in the new single “Swish Swish”, which is the third single of Ms. Thang’s upcoming studio album Witness. THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE: “Frontiers” – Single Review

original

Released: April 19, 2017

After a reasonably strong debut with the EDM-fuelled “Lightning”, Japanese boy band THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE dropped their follow-up mid-last month, titled “Frontiers”. There seems to be a very common trait with the Exile crew, notably their inevitable single releases literally right after another, and of course, a big assistance with the production and sound. And, with a bunch of B-sides to boast their releases, their seems to be no surprise in ratifying the group to maybe something a little outside the EXILE comfort zone.  Continue reading “THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE: “Frontiers” – Single Review”

Harry Styles: ‘Harry Styles’ – Album Review

harrystyles-albumcover

Released: May 12, 2017

Looks like Mr. Harry Styles’ felt it was time to spread those wings and fly into the world of “lets-become-a-solo-artist” and deploy a batch of freshly-baked singles to top the charts. The British sensation has just released his album—which is simply the same title as his name—and I can tell you guys that this is gon’ be a trip through nostalgia and back. I’ve always enjoyed Harry’s sense of artistry, keeping his image very classic and chic, but what better to have an image like that than accompany it with a staggering release that boasts a broad range of 1960s-1980s music styles. Get ready all you KatyCats, because it’s gon’ be another ride to KatyLand!

American pop star Katy Perry has officially announced the release of her studio album Witness, which is expected to hit shelves on June 9, 2017. Ms. Thang also revealed that, alongside the album will be a world tour titled (guess this…) the Witness World Tour, which will first see a wave of concerts in North America and will eventually see her forward onto various countries around the globe. The album—which has yet to feature an album cover—has already released two singles; “Chained to the Rhythm” and “Bon Appetit”, the latter featuring Migos.  Continue reading “Katy Perry announces new album ‘Witness’, and it’s accompanying world tour!”

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 Episode 8: “RuPaul Roast” – TV Show Review

queens-we-love-rupauls-drag-race-season-9-hero

Now y’all… what would Drag Race be without a good reading challenge! Thank the lords, Mama Ru has decided to push back the main challenge and bring forth the good ol’ reading glasses, because why? The library is open! Apart from Ms. Nina Bo’Nina I’ll-Read-You-To-Filth-Betch Brown and Trinity Taylor, this season hasn’t been open to shady shade reads, so it’s good to see a cluster of surprising reads and cutty-cut moments that showcases the quick-wit and intelligence of these queens. Lukicly this season, all the queens served each other a platter of filth and shade, but for some, they just couldn’t take it.
